Call to Worship
While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread,
and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples,
and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
Then he took a cup,
and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying,
“Drink from it, all of you.”
Hymn 484: Great God, your love has called us here [Tune: Melita]
Prayer
Reading: John 13: 1–17; 31b–35 (NT pp104–105)
Sermon: Heart and Feet
We make confession of our Faith in the Apostles’ Creed (all standing)
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried,
He descended into hell;
The third day He rose again from the dead,
He ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
The holy catholic Church;
The Communion of Saints;
The Forgiveness of sins;
The Resurrection of the body;
And the Life everlasting.
Amen
Communion Hymn 376: ’Twas on the night [Tune: Rockingham]
Sacrament of The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory,
for ever.
Amen
Hymn 372: Lord Jesus, as the shadows long are stealing [Tune: Herzliebster Jesu]
