Throughout Advent we will be having our Annual Appeal for Christian Aid.
The 2023 Christmas appeal will focus on Bangladesh and supporting young women to break out of poverty. The climate crisis hits people hard, wreaking havoc on traditional farming livelihoods. For women, opportunities are even more limited, with societal norms to marry young, and little scope for study or future work. Christian Aid is helping young women to study and set up online businesses. There is more information here - christmas-appeal
In addition to this Christian Aid requires funding throughout the year to continue its vital work with disadvantaged communities across the world.
- The preferred way of donating is by Bank Transfer to the Greenbank Church Collections account – see below. By using a reference including your name, the church can claim Gift Aid where relevant; this will be passed on to Christian Aid.
- We will also have Gift Aid Advent Envelopes available in the church vestibule and in pews from Sunday 3rd December. Any cheques should be made payable to Greenbank Church.
- There will also be an opportunity to donate at the Christmas Eve services and on Christmas Day.
